Description
Variable low to medium, hairless annual. |Lower leaves broadly oval to spoon-shaped, blunt, untoothed; upper leaves oval to lanceolate, untoothed or slightly toothed; bracts green. Flowers pinkish or bluish, tiny, in flat, umbel-like clusters. Fruit almost rounded, 2mm, compressed in cross-section, smooth or with faint transverse ridges, the calyx reduced to tiny inconspicuous teeth; fruit clusters surrounded by a ruff of bracts. Habitat: Arable land and waste land, roadsides, , cliffs, dunes, on sandy or calcareous soils, generally at low attitudes. Flowering Season: April-June. Distribution: Throughout Europe, except much of the North. This is a quite common Weed in the described Habitats in the Netherlands.
