Description
The photo shows the badlands with a plateau in the distance and a blue sky. There is a derelict building in the middle left of the photo and a distant road with cyclist on the left. A mesa in the distance shows sign of rutts from erosion. The photo is taken in the Bardenas Reales (sometimes referred as Bárdenas Reales) national park. It is a semi-desert natural region, or badlands, of some 42,000 hectares (420 km2; 104,000 acres) in southeast Navarre, bordering Aragon, Spain. It is located in the middle of the depression of the Ebro valley, at the foot of the mountains of the Yugo and the Zaragoza region of Cinco Villas, and is a UNESCO Biosphere Reserve. It comprises of the natural Reserve ‘Rincón del Bú’ and the Reserva Natural ‘Caídas de la Negra’ .The photo was taken in May2023
