Description
The Hercílio Luz Bridge was built in 1926 in order to connect the island to the mainland. Since 1982 it has been disabled for pedestrian and vehicle traffic. Transformed into a historical monument, declared as cultural heritage of Santa Catarina and Brazil. It is one of the largest suspension bridges in the world and its structure was all produced in steel.
