Description
Local Women offer betel leaves, sweets and vermilion to Goddess Durga on the last day of the 5-day long Durga Puja. This is the most important festival of Eastern parts of India and specially the Bengali Speaking Hindus. The ritual of offering betel leaves and vermilion(Sindoor) to the Goddess is called "Debi Boron" in the local language. After completion of this ritual, the deity is taken to a river and immersed in the waters.
