Description
A closeup of an Eastern Indigo Snake (Drymarchon couperi) crawling through the sand in Florida. It is the largest snake native to the United States, and it is a Federally endangered species. They are also know as: Indigo Snake, Indigo, Blue Gopher Snake, or Gopher Snake. The reason the foreground is blurry is because I was laying directly on the ground and got this shot as the snake came out from under the forest floor substrate. If you look closely you can see the snake is covered with dust and sand.
