Description
The Least Sandpiper (Calidris minutilla) is the smallest shorebird and the smallest member of the family of sandpipers (Scolopacidae). It breeds on the North American arctic tundra and winters in the southern United States and south through northern South America. This bird in winter plumage is on the Salton Sea in Imperial County, southern California.
