Description
A stunning series of 14 images depicting the extreme conditions in which trees survive at beach level in the tropics. The root, bark and leaf systems of all of the trees depicted in these images demonstrate an inate ability to adapt to the extreme environment in which they grow in the littoral zone of these idyllic beaches. The architectural nature of the root systems create intricate shadow patternss on the sand or the grass, whether they are palm trees, mangroves, fliau trees or indeed any other exotic form of tropical foliage. The crystal clear blue light of the Southern Summer and the classic aquamarine colours of the Indian Ocean and waters of the lagoon of this beautiful island nation complete the images. Shot in December 2018, early afternoon, Le Morne, South West Mauritius
