Description
The Monument to the Party Founding is across the Taedong River from the Mansudae Grand Monument, and commemorates the 50th anniversary of the founding of the Korean Worker's Party (1996). It stands 50 metres high and depicts the hammer (labour), the sickle (farmers/peasants), and the brush (intellectuals). Built in a circle, it represents Korean unity.
