Sibenik, Dalmatia, Croatia: Old façades and Croatian flag against blue sky - know as The Tricolour (Trobojnica), consists of three horizontal stripes of equal size, red, white and blue, with the coat of arms of Croatia in the middle, a chessboard of red and silver (white) in five rows , hence colloquially referred to as a šahovnica (chessboard), the crown coprises the Ilyrian coat of arms as well as those of Dubrovnik, Dalmatia and Istria.
