Description
The iconic Red -eyed Tree Frog is a Costa Rican rain-forest amphibian that sleeps by day stuck to leaf-bottoms with their eyes closed and body markings covered. They are non-venomous but when disturbed flash their red eyes and show their orange feet and bright blue-and-yellow flanks - called startle coloration - which may confuse a predator, giving the frog a chance to spring to safety.
