Description
Şeb-i Arus or the “wedding night” refers to the Mevlevi tradition built around the ceremonies to commemorate the night Mawlāna Jalāl ad-Dīn Rumi had passed away (December 17). At the center of this tradition is the Sema ceremony which symbolizes the creation of the universe, the resurrection of mankind in the universe, his awakening through the Love of the “Supreme Creator” and his quest to become a “perfect human being” as God’s servant.
