Description
Residential buildings in various states of repair on a south-facing hillside in the centre of Shimla, the capital of the Indian state of Himachal Pradesh and a top tourist destination in the subcontinent. The location is cramped and festooned with power lines. The town, the former summer capital of the British Raj, is built on a ridge in the south-western Himalayas at around 2400 metres above sea level.
