Description
Zincirli Bedesten, which was built by Darendeli Hüseyin Pasha in the first quarter of the 19th century, is popularly known as the "Black Step Bedesten". The historical building, which is also called the Et Hali because it has been home to butchers for many years, offers an authentic environment, especially for spice sellers and touristic goods sellers, who want to engage in commercial activities with 73 shops, the width of which varies between 10-25 square meters, after the restoration works carried out by the Regional Directorate of Foundations. Bedesten has five gates. The author of the four-line inscription on the south gate is Prensi. It consists of two sections, one extending from north to south and the other from east to west and intersecting each other. It is a closed and single storey building. Although later on, another floor was built and used as the Courthouse, but this section was completely destroyed in the fire in 1957.
