Split Apple Rock, the Iconic and most Photographed Landmark of the Abel Tasman National Park Tasman Bay off the northern coast of the South Island of New Zealand. Known to the Maori as Tokangawhā, Split Apple Rock is a geological rock formation made from granite. It is in the shape of an apple which has been chopped in half, fitting, as the local area is the main grower of apples in New Zealand.
