Description
Flag that flew over Fort McHenry during its bombardment in 1814, which was witnessed by Francis Scott Key. The family of Major Armistead, the commander of the fort, kept the flag until they donated it to the Smithsonian in 1912. This is A replica of the 15-star/15-stripe U.S. flag that currently flies over Fort McHenry.
