Description
The beautiful interior of the church of Santa Maria della Pace (Church of Saint Mary of Peace) in the historic heart of Rome, in the Piazza Navona district. Built in 1482 during the pontificate of Sisto IV, the church was designed in the Renaissance style with a trapezoidal plan and an octagonal cross by the architect Baccio Pontelli. In 1656 Pietro da Cortona designed the Baroque-style façade with a semi-circular colonnade. Inside the church, rich in numerous chapels, there are architectural and pictorial works by Raphael, Antonio da Sangallo, Rosso Fiorentino, Baldassarre Peruzzi and Orazio Gentileschi. In 1980 the historic center of Rome was declared a World Heritage Site by Unesco. Super wide angle image in 16:9 ratio and high definition quality.
