Description
The Pont du Galetas is a road bridge upstream from the Lac de Sainte Croix, it is one of the favorite photo points for holidaymakers visiting the Verdon. Located between Aiguines and Moutiers Sainte Marie and making the junction between the departments of Var and Alpes-de-haute-Provence, the bridge spans the Verdon at the exit of the gorges, offering a postcard setting with the gorges on one side and a view of Lake Sainte Croix on the other. The Pont de Sainte-Croix, also called the Pont du Galetas, is a concrete road bridge that spans the Verdon River, near the village of Sainte-Croix-du-Verdon. The Sainte-Croix bridge and dam were integrated as part of the Durance-Verdon development project in 1972. With a height of 82 meters and a length of 290 meters, it is the longest bridge in the department. of the Alpes de Haute Provence.
