Description
The Torre Quebrada (left) and Torre del Homenaje (or Tower of Homage - right) dominate the entrance to the Alhambra's Alcazaba (or Kasbah) complex. Built during the 13th century by the Muslim sultans, the Alcazaba was essentially a defensive structure. The Alhambra (or Al Qal'a al-Hamra, meaning 'the red fort', or ‘the red one’) remains one of Europe's finest buildings. The Alhambra dominates the city of Granada in Spain's Andalucia (or al-Andalus) region.
