The statue of Alessandro Volta took place in 1838. The monument is the work of Pompeo Marchesi one of the most famous sculptors of the time (1783-1858). The base, however, on which rests the beautiful statue, with rich ornaments depicting the inventions Volta, was designed by Franco Durelli.
