At only a 1.5 kilometres long, it is home to nine of the world's greatest and magnificent champagne houses, including, such famous residents as Moët & Chandon, Perrier-Jouët, Pol Roger, Mercier, Boizel, de Venoge, and VrankenUnderneath the buildings of the Avenue are more than 100 km of chalk cellars in which more than 200 million bottles of Champagne stored at a cool and constant temperature. As can be seen the vineyards encroach upon the town.
