Western church and Prinsengracht canal in Amsterdam
The Westertoren (Wester Tower) is the highest church tower in Amsterdam, the Netherlands and a landmark structure for this city. Built in 1637 and designed by the famous Dutch architect Hendrick de Keyser, this was the tower Anne Frank was able to see from her room in the 'Achterhuis' and chiming of the clock was a source of comfort to her as mentioned in her diary.

The spire, called the Westertoren (western tower), is the highest church tower in Amsterdam, at 85 meters (279 feet). Rembrandt van Rijn was buried in the Westerkerk on October 8, 1669.
