Description
Landscape Photography in a Vertical format with a diminishing scale perspective, showing the Achensee Lake with the Rofan Mountain Range in the background. Lake Achensee is located north of Jenbach in Tyrol, 380 m above the Inntal valley. Together with the Achental valley, it forms the border between the Karwendel mountains in the west and the Brandenberg Alps in the east. Lake Achensee, which is up to 133 m deep, was created by huge glaciers 20,000 years ago and is the largest lake in Tyrol. It has excellent water quality (almost drinking water level) with up to ten meters of visibility under water. Its water temperature is low for a mountain lake and hardly ever exceeds 20 °C. Lake Achensee is sometimes referred to as the Tyrolean Sea due to its size and the ideal wind conditions for sailing and wind surfing.
