Description
Clarks Anemonefish Ampiphrion clarkii occurs in tropical Indo-West Pacific in a depth range from 1-60m, max. size 15cm. Ampiphrion clarkii has the broadest distribution of any anemonefish and occurs in many color varieties, geographic ones but melanistic one too, as some sea anemones change the fishs color, mostly from orange to black. This specimen is on top of a Leathery Sea Anemone Heteractis crispa. Heteractis crispa occurs in the tropical Indo-West Pacific, usually subtidally among dead coral and rock rubble. The tentacles are very numerous, up to 800. The length of the tentacles is typically to 100mm. Banda Island, Indonesia, 4°30'21.42 S 129°52'47.28 E at 7m depth
