Description
A view of the arid semi desert region around the town of Villa de Leyva in the Boyacá Department of the South American country of Colombia. Even though the elevation today is over 7000 feet above mean sea level, millions of years ago all of this area was under the sea: it is therefore not difficult to imagine why the land today is a semi desert. The plastic sheeted areas in the background are where vegetables are being farmed. The plastic sheets shield the vegetables from unnecessary climatic conditions. There are a couple of people at the end of the dirt track; but they cannot be recognised. Photo shot in the morning sunlight; horizontal format. Camera: Canon EOS 5D MII. Lens: Canon EF 24-70 F2.8L USM.
