Description
Vinh Trang Pagoda was built by Mr. and Mrs. Bui Cong Dat in the 19th century, at first just a small temple. Then, in 1849, Venerable Thich Hue Dang returned here, and the abbot ordered the organization to rebuild it into a great temple and named it Vinh Truong, with the implication of "Eternal to the mountains, eternal to the heavens and the earth". However, people in the area are still used to calling it Vinh Trang pagoda. The architecture of Vinh Trang pagoda blends a lot of Asian - European features (French, Roman, Thai, Mien and Cham), but still has bold Vietnamese traditional sculptural architecture.
