Description
The burnt out remains of the 24-storey Grenfell Tower block in West London, which burnt down in the early hours of June 14th 2017 claiming the lives of around 100 people and making many more homeless. The fire, which was believed to have been caused by a faulty plug on a refrigerator, rapidly spread throughout the building due to the highly combustible nature of the exterior cladding of the tower block. The event was one of the worst losses of life caused by a domestic fire in the UK in living memory and was a national tragedy.
