Description
Arizona doesn't have many natural ponds and lakes. To provide water for their livestock, early ranchers dug stock tanks in the national forest open range. Now that the national forests are used for recreation these old tanks provide ideal habitat for wildlife as well as popular destinations for hiking. This unnamed tank, with a reflection of Mount Elden, has filled up from the monsoon rainfalls. It is located at the base of Campbell Mesa in Coconino National Forest, Arizona, USA.
