Description
Several crosses, decorated with a poppy, simulate a cemetery to commemorate victims of the war. On the eleventh hour of the eleventh day of the eleventh month in 1918 (11th November), the First World War ended. Civilians wanted to remember the people who had given their lives for peace and freedom. To raise money for the ex-Service community, it became customary selling poppies. In this picture the names identifying real victims have been hidden. Scan from a 35mm Kodachrome 200.
