Description
Hairless, short to medium annual or short-lived perennial; stems often reddish, erect or ascending from a branched base. leaves fleshy, linear to lanceolate, rounded in section, half-clasping the stem, the upper unstalked. Flower heads with bright blue or purple rays surrounding a yellow disk, 8-20mm, borne in large, often flat-topped panicles. Habitat: Coastal places, sometimes in saline habitats inland. Flowering Season: July-October. Distribution: Throughout Europe, except the far north. This Picture is made during a Day Trip on the Marker Wadden in October 2022.
