Description
First mentioned in 1137, this church (also known as the Church of the Holy Sepulchre (Holborn))was rebuilt after the Great Fire of London in 1666. It escaped serious damage during the Blitz of the Second World War. Among the historical notables buried within is Thomas Culpeper, the dashing young man accused of having an affair with Henry VIII's fourth wife, Katherine Howard. Both were beheaded.
