Description
Vor Frue Kirke - Church of Our Lady - in Kalundborg, Denmark is unique in the world. It was build around A.D. 1200 by Esbern Snare, the brother of bishop Absalon who founded Copenhagen. It has five towers, one octagonal in each arm of a greek cross, and one quadratic on top of the central ship. The inspiration comes from the "Heavenly Jerusalem" that in medieval times was envisaged as a fortified city with five towers.
