In the small village of Batubelig they have a strange tradition called the Mepepada procession which happens once every 10 to 15 years. A young cow is chased through the only one main street. From the northern temple to the southern temple. A village elderly man holds a pointy bamboe stick and hits the behind of the calf till it bleeds. The whole village community follows and sees the ritual in order to purify the community. At the end the holy priest prays at the temple and the calf is butchered and its meat is given to the inhabitants of the village. A strange tradition which is rarely seen.
