Nara, Japan - June 30, 2008: A deer looks right at the camera as visitors to Nara Park purchase treats from vendors to feed to the tame creatures. Sika Deer enjoy protected status at Nara Park. 1200 of them roam the area looking for deer-crackers (Shika-senbei) from visitors. Vendors sell them in the park, which is also the site of the three shrines: Tōdai-ji, Kōfuku-ji, and Kasuga Shrine.
