This glacier is located on the south side of the valley, close Chamonix-Mont-Blanc. The glacier is broken by fields of seracs, icefalls, and crevasses, and is topped on by a huge pyramid of rock: the Aiguille du Midi (3842 m, 12,605 ft). Two cable cars connect the Aiguille du Midi to Chamonix-Mont-Blanc (France) and Courmayeur (Italy). This is the highest cable car in the world, and allows you to gaze at the entire Mont Blanc Massif.
