Battle of Göllheim, Germany (1298), wood engraving, published in 1885 The Battle of Göllheim (near Worms, Rhineland-Palatinate, Germany) was fought on 2 July 1298 between the forces of duke Albert I of Habsburg (German: Albrecht) and king Adolf of Nassau (King of the Romans). The cause of the armed conflict was that the electors had deposed Adolf and proclaimed Albert anti-king. Adolf lost his life in the battle.
