Armscor Buffel MRAP Luanda, Angola: The Armscor Buffel (Buffalo) is a South African mine-protected troop carrier, developed in the 1970s for use in counterinsurgency operations. Known for its rugged design and V-shaped hull, the Buffel was engineered to withstand landmine explosions and provide enhanced survivability for its occupants. It typically carries up to ten troops in addition to a driver and is equipped with light armor to protect against small arms fire. The Buffel was widely used by the South African Defense Force (SADF) and became a symbol of South Africa's military presence during the Border War in Namibia and Angola. Its design influenced the development of subsequent mine-resistant, ambush protected (MRAP) vehicles around the world - on public display outside Sao Miguel fortress. buffel stock pictures, royalty-free photos & images
