The crested guineafowl (Guttera pucherani) is a member of the Numididae, the guineafowl bird family. It is found in open forest, woodland and forest-savanna mosaics in Sub-Saharan Africa.

The bird is famous for its beautiful plumage-black feathers are strewn with white spots. On the head a beautiful crest of black feathers, eyes circled in red, the head and neck are blue, devoid of feathers. Inhabits the forests of sub-Saharan Africa.

Kenya Crested Guineafowl (Guttera pucherani), foraging for food. They are also known as: Crested Guineafowl, Eastern Crested Guineafowl, Guinea Fowl, Kroonparelhoen, or Pintade huppée.

They are monogamous with probable strong and long-lasting pair bonds. Courtship feeding is common, and the male may run several metres to the hen to present food.
