Grangemouth Refinery, located in Grangemouth, Scotland, is the largest oil refinery in the country and a critical part of the UK's energy infrastructure. Established in the 1920s, the refinery processes crude oil into various petroleum products such as gasoline, diesel, and jet fuel. It is situated near the Firth of Forth, benefiting from access to shipping routes and proximity to the North Sea oil fields. The facility is vast, featuring a network of pipelines, storage tanks, and towering chimneys, which are often illuminated by flares at night. As part of the Grangemouth industrial complex, it plays a key role in the local economy but has also been a focal point for environmental concerns due to its emissions and impact on the surrounding area.

A golden sunset floods the sky above Culross, its warm light cutting through the sharp cold of a November evening. The low sun hangs near the horizon, spilling amber and honeyed tones across the entire landscape. Below, the River Forth lies calm, reflecting the sky above and streaks of gold along its surface. The radiant sky gives the moment a quiet, luminous stillness with winter closing in, yet paused by light.
