Horizontal composition color photography of close-up part of sick grape leaves, vine leaf affected by Colomerus vitis, l'erinose or cloque de la vigne in french. Eriophyes vitis, erinose, is a mite species in the genus Eriophyes infecting grape leaves. This species is associated with the mite Tydeus eriophyes on grapevines in the vicinity of Grabouw, South Africa. The erinose is not a disease but a condition caused by invisible to the naked eye mites, Colomerus vitis called mites that get stuck on the underside of leaves. It is manifested by blistering red or green in the leaves that remind of peach leaf curl, causing a deformation of the grape leaf. These blisters (bubble) are caused by the bites of mites. The deformations of the leaves have no effect on the crop. Binomial name: Eriophyes vitis (Pagenstecher, 1857). This picture was taken in Bugey mountains, in Ain, in Auvergne-Rhone-Alpes region in France (Europe) in summer season in the end of august and early september without people.
