Heisterbach Abbey (Kloster Heisterbach; also Petersthal, formerly Petersberg) was a Cistercian monastery in the Siebengebirge near Königswinter-Oberdollendorf in North Rhine-Westphalia, Germany. The famous basilica of Heisterbach was begun by Abbot Gerard (1195–1208), and consecrated in 1237 under Abbot Henry (1208–1244).

Rhöndorf, Germany - November, 12 - 2019: View of the Petersberg mountain in autumn forest colours. The Petersberg is 335.9 m above sea level. It rises east of the Rhine above. The castle/hotel on top was seat of the Allied High Commission. From 1955 to 1969 and after a comprehensive reconstruction back in 1990, the Grand Hotel on the Petersberg served as a guest house of the Federal Republic of Germany. After the relocation of the seat of government to Berlin in 1999, it remained in the possession of the federal government and continued to be a guest house at irregular intervals for national and international conferences for special occasions.
