"Looking across Lachlan Bay to Old Castle Lachlan. Built sometime around the 1400s, this was the seat of Clan MacLachlan. The MacLachlans supported the Jacobite uprising and in 1746, after the defeat of the Jacobites at Culloden, the castle was bombarded from the sea by the English and the castle was abandoned."
