Mexico City, Mexico, November 01 - A group of extras plays the ancient Juego de la Pelota (The Ball Game) in a field rebuilt in the Zocalo square in Mexico City, in the historic center of the city, on the occasion of the Day of the Dead celebrations. This ancestral game formed part of a ritual of Mesoamerican peoples, in particular Maya and Aztecs. The ball, which in its original form was composed of rubber and guamol resin, was exchanged between two opposing teams without the possibility of being touched by the hands or arms of the players.
