A stunning series of 6 images of English farmland in the Vale of Evesham at the northern extreme edge of the Cotswolds in the English Midlands. The shoot was made in mid-October 2019 in late afternoon autumn sunlights and the muted colours of browns, golds and greens under expansive blue skies with dappled cloudscapes perfectly compliment each other. The patchwork of ploughed or harrowed fields, hedgerows and mature deciduous trees are archetypal English Pastoral scenes of the kind so popular with 18th Century artists like Constable and these atmospheric images evoke the same timeless qualities as those paintings. This fourth picture in the series is a telephoto image of the patchwork andscape of fileds in the far distance. The compressed focal length and the criss-crossing of the hedgerows and trees above the bright green or brown ploughed fields emphasises the pastoral nature of this iconic landscape.
